Custom Coatings, Inc. offers a broad scope of painting/finishing services. Foremost among them, are complete interior and exterior painting for new construction, encompassing both residential and commercial projects. Additionally we provide interior and exterior repainting for private residences, condominiums, hotels, restaurants, commercial buildings and more. We are particularly proficient in the restoration of older homes.

We are a licensed Maui painting contractor in business for over 20 years. While still offering on-site services like other island painting companies, an essential difference is that we provide pre-finishing services. Our unique prep and paint facility boasts over 4,000 square feet under-roof. Additionally, we have ample yard space which can accommodate two 40 foot shipping containers if required.

Custom Coatings specializes in pre-finishing windows, doors, jambs, casings, cabinetry, crown moldings, baseboards — virtually any millwork profile or configuration for fine custom homes, hotels, condominiums and various commercial projects. We also apply finishes to metal (gates, doors, parking lot light-poles, etc.), fiberglass and plastics. Refinishing is offered for outdoor furniture such as tables and chairs for restaurants, hotels, condominiums and private homes as well. On-site painters can be provided if desired.

General contractors that utilize our pre-finishing capabilities, enjoy the benefit of being able to ship directly to our prep & paint facility which minimizes handling and conserves valuable job-site space. Additionally, this reduces the amount of time our crews spend on-site, produces a cleaner and safer working environment for other trades, and expedites the project's completion. The result is a quality finish achievable only under "shop conditions". Moreover, incidental on-site contamination, (oily stains, fingerprints, and dirt on doors, trims, exposed beam ceilings etc.), that can occur during handling of unfinished raw wood is effectively eliminated.

We offer the option of storing pre-finished items at our prep and paint facility, until they are required for installation. This saves time and unneccesary expense by reducing the occurence of accidental collateral damage (dings, dents, gouges, etc.) incurred by other tradesmen at the job-site.
